The qualifying examination to become a driving instructor is in three parts:
Part 1: Theory - consists of a multiple-choice test and a video-based hazard perception test. There is no limit to the number of attempts you may have for this test.
Part 2: Driving Technique - consists of an eyesight test followed by an advanced practical test of your driving technique. The test lasts one hour and is carried out on all types of road. You are only allowed 3 attempts.
Part 3: Instructional ability - consists of a practical test of your ability to instruct. The test lasts one hour and is conducted by an examiner role-playing the part of two pupils. You are only allowed 3 attempts.
Theory - a one-day training course on the ADI theory and hazard perception tests. In addition we provide:

NO OVERALL UP-FRONT FEE! - Payment is by instalments as you pass each part of the qualifying examination.

Part of the DSA examiner selection process requires candidates to take a special driving test. The DSA does not offer any training for this test. Instructor doctors can offer candidates the correct level of training to help them reach the required standard.
